How do I handle a drop-in (walk-in) child without having to enroll the child? (Say, someone just drops off a child just once.)

You can handle one time drop-ins through dummy accounts. For example, create a family with a few children like this:

  • Account: Contact Last Name = WalkinLast, Contact First Name = WalkinFirst, Relationship = Mother or Father
  • Child 1: Last Name = Walkin, First Name = Child1
  • Child 2: Last Name = Walkin, First Name = Child2
  • Child 3: Last Name = Walkin, First Name = Child3
  • Child 4: Last Name = Walkin, First Name = Child4

This way you can handle multiple walk-in children in a day.

This account of course will not have any real address and you won't need to mail statements or yearly receipt for tax purpose; however, for accounting purpose your revenue and money collected for the period will reflect the correct amounts.
