Technical Overview
MS SQL Server
The SQL Server based version of iCare is built on the highly regarded MS SQL Server database engine from Microsoft. Furthermore, a sound schema design gives you a perfect database for all your operational needs.
This version of iCare includes management by sites.
MS Access/Jet Database Engine
The Access version of iCare is built on the highly regarded relational database engine, the MS Access/Jet Database, from Microsoft. Furthermore, a sound schema design gives you a perfect database for all your operational needs.
Open Database Environment
Through the Form Maker Wizard, the iCare database has been opened to you for the purpose of creating your own database tables and fields.
Through the Ad Hoc Query Builder, the iCare database along with all the tables, queries and views, has been exposed to you for creating your own queries. These queries can be memorized for future use for creating your own reports.
With the export function in the iCare Report Maker, all the data in the database can be exported in a variety of file formats like ODBC, DB files, Word, Excel, HTML, XML, and PDF.
Configurable User Interface
The iCare interface is built with MS Visual Basic 6. The interface uses standard menus, a toolbar and a department buttons design.
This interface is fully customizable. You can configure it according to your needs. You can customize the toolbar and the department buttons, hide or unhide report and form entries, and change their locations and names.
Network Compatibility
iCare uses standard database file mapping techniques and Microsoft’s ADO and DAO component technologies for making connections to the database files on a network. The system is easily configurable for LAN/WAN environments.
iCare can be run on almost any networking protocol.
iCare can be run on a variety on server types – MS Windows NT, 2000, 2003, XP, and Novell and Citrix servers.
Distributed Hardware Environment
Hardware devices like data terminals, swipe card reader, touch screen monitors, electric door opener modules, which are used for attendance collection, door security, and messaging, can be installed on the iCare server or on any workstation that is networked to your iCare server.
Distributed Operational Environment
The system administrative functions like the system Day Ending Process and database backup can be set up on the iCare server or on any workstation that is networked to your iCare server.
Customized Solutions for Integration with Other Applications
Orgamation provides variety of application integration services. We build you easy-to-use programs for integrating the data from your other business applications with that of iCare. For example, programs for integration with other applications like Great Plains Software, QuickBooks, ADP, credit card processing, and other applications.

iCareWeb
iCareWeb is a supplementary program that gives capability to interact with the parents through the Internet. iCareWeb is installed on your computer so your data is kept within your own computers and not moved to a public server.

iCareProviderWeb
