Installing iCare on the LAN

Installing iCare on the Server

1.       Insert the iCare CD in the CD-ROM.

2.       Follow the instructions given in the section Installing iCare (above).

Installing iCare on the Workstations

On each workstation, a network map to the drive on the iCare server is required. Also, make sure that the network map is automatically restored every time the workstation boots up.

1.       Insert the iCare CD in the CD-ROM.

2.       Follow the instruction given in the section Installing iCare (above).

3.       In the iCare directory delete all files from the Databases folder.

4.       Delete the Reports folder.

5.       Run iCare by double-clicking the iCare icon on the desktop.

6.       If a Choose Network Path window opens, take the following steps:

§         Select the correct network path to the DCMS9003 folder on the server.

§         Click the “Accept” button. iCare will start.

§         Shut down iCare and restart it.

7.       If the Choose Network Path window comes up again, take the following steps:

§         Using Windows Explorer, go the DCMS9003\Resources folder.

§         Find and open the file DCMS_DB.loc using Notepad.

§         Put the appropriate location of the DCMS9003 folder of the server.

§         Save and close the file.

æ          Make sure that the network map of the DCMS server is automatically restored every time the workstation boots up

æ          All program files on the workstations must match the database version on the server.
