Troubleshooting the LAN setup

1.       Make sure whenever you start the workstations that you log on to the network computer.

æ          Unless you log on as a network user, the network map to the database file will not be restored and iCare will not work on the workstation. If you have problems with logging on contact your IT department.

2.       Make sure you have the same DCMS9003.exe on all the computers, iCare Server and Workstations. See the section Check iCare File Versions on Your Computer (page 48).

3.       Make sure you do not have any files or sub-folders in the DCMS9003\Databases folder on the workstations.

4.       Your client-server environment will run better if all the workstations have the same version of the MS Windows operating system.

5.       If you start iCare on the workstation and it asks you to locate the network path to the database, then follow the instructions given in the section Installing iCare on the Workstations (page 47).

6.       Check network path to the database at the Workstations. In Windows Explorer go C:\DCMS9003\Resources folder and open the file DCMS_DB.loc. Check the network path given in this file. For SQL version also check the network path given in DCMS_DB.LOC file and the SQL_DB.loc file.
