Automation Setup via the Dayending Process
Setting up the Day Ending Time
The following functions are performed in the Day Ending Process.
§ Billing
§ Backup
§ Automated messaging
§ Detection of abnormalities
To set up the Day Ending time do as follows:
1. Go to the System Configuration Menu.
2. Select Center Setup.
3. Select Center Operations.
4. In the Open/Close/Peak Time tab set up the preferred Day Ending time.
5. Click on Accept Edit.
æ Do NOT shut off your computer at the end of the day. You should leave iCare running at the Day Ending time, which can be set up as shown above.
Fifteen minutes before the dayending time iCare will automatically shut down and restart after the dayending procedures are finished.
Setting up One Computer to Run the Dayending Routine
To set up Day Ending on one computer. If you have installed iCare on multiple computers then preferably you should do this on the main computer, the one on which you have installed the database:
1. Go to the System Configuration Menu click on System HW Setup.
2. Go to the Day Ending tab.
3. Check the "Do Day Ending on this Computer and click on Save.
Running Dayending as a Windows Service
If you don’t want to leave iCare running continuously on your server then you can run the Dayending Process in one of two ways:
1. Include C:\DCMS9003\Bin\DayEndingApp.EXE in your Windows Scheduler.
2. Set up C:\DCMS9003\Bin\DayEndingService.EXE as a Windows Service. See ‘Installing the Day Ending Service’.
Day Ending Report
Using the System Day Ending Report, located on the Report Center menu, you should verify that the Day Ending Process ran properly. See the section Checking if the Day Ending Process is Running Correctly (page 90).
