Food Program

CACFP & USDA Food Program Software

iCare works according to your organization’s billing rules, allowing you to manage more of your daycare center or school’s advanced billing requirements automatically.

CACFP Food Reimbursement Program

iCare’s CACFP Food Program allows you to better manage your center or school’s reimbursements and meal planning for CACFP.  Key features include:

  • Eligibility categories: Track the eligibility of children for the program using categories like paid, free and reduced.
  • Reimbursements:  Enter reimbursement rates for each type of meal served based on the eligibility level (paid, free, reduced) of the family.  Reimbursements are automatically calculated.
  • Flexibility: Set different meal times and types for each program or class.  Enter different reimbursement rates.  Calculate meals served data based on attendance or actual meal counts.  You’ll be able to quickly see any differences between what is projected based on attendance and actual meal counts.
  • Meal planning: A meal planning report based on scheduled meals for any day in the future is available to help the cook plan the number of meals to prepare.
  • Reports: iCare has many pre-built reports to make organizing the information from the Food Program easy.  Standard reports include: Reimbursement Summary, Meal Count, Meal Planning, Family Eligibility, and Parent Fee report.

USDA Nutrition and Food Production Planning

(This module is currently not available in the new V11 version)

iCare’s Food Program is a complete system for food and nutrition planning. You’ll be able to better adhere to the USDA food program, and plan meals with greater accuracy, develop and send menus to families and staff.

iCare’s Food Program allows you to setup the serving sizes by food item, age group, and type of meal.  You can also itemize food items to plan for the quantity needed daily and weekly for purchasing and preparing food.

You’ll also have the flexibility to generate different reports like menus, meal production, meal count, food item list, shopping list, etc.  These reports can also be emailed to families and staff.
