Improve relationships with families, communicate more efficiently, and keep everyone on the same page.
Messaging
Instantly notify parents of schedule changes, snow days, and other important messages through SMS. You can also use other methods like keypad, Lobby Interface (through a touch screen monitor or computer screen), or Parent Portal to send messages to individuals or groups of parents and staff. They will receive the message when they sign into the keypad, Lobby Interface, or Parent Portal.
Connect Online
Parents and staff can receive notes online from teachers or other staff. Parent Portal is an extension of iCare that gives parents and staff access to communication online. Parent Portal is protected by a unique username and password that parents and staff have to enter.
Mail-Merge
You can send letters easily through iCare either through preset mail-merge letters or by customizing the letter to your specification. You can easily print these or email them directly from iCare. For more info, see iCare’s page on Reporting.
You can send emails with simple text, reports, letters, and a variety of other information from iCare to individuals and to groups. You’ll be able to notify parents and send important information to keep everyone on the same page.
Instant Feedback
Along with standard messages to parents and staff, you can ask parents questions and get feedback instantly. You’ll be able to automate receiving responses for daily, routine questions like:
Ask questions like:
- What would your child like for lunch?
- Do you want to send your child for the Art Museum field trip?
- What time will you pick your child today?
Parents can select a response like:
- PB&J Sandwich ($3.00)
- Yes
- 2:30 PM
For questions that you assign a cost to (like the lunch question), you can bill parents automatically for the selections they make. So in this case, when the parent chooses PB&J Sandwich, iCare will bill the parent automatically.
Teacher-to-Parent Notes
Teachers can write notes to parents about children and students. Parents can receive the notes through the Lobby Interface (See Check-In Solutions) or online through Parent Portal. Teachers can separate notes into any number of classifications like by behavior (e.g. Eating, Behavior), by class (e.g. Geography, Math), or by teacher (e.g. Mrs. Jones, Mr. Wilson).
