A PDA is a very inexpensive and yet amazing tool for collecting attendance on remote sites or buses. iCarePDA is a nicely developed application that has the following main features:

• Single-click entry of attendance times
• Pictures and personal data of children for validation
• Signature capture for validation
  

Children’s List Selection

All the children in the database are loaded in the PDA but for speed and ease of finding children in the PDA you can filter the children by

• Program, or
  
• Bus
  

This gives you multiple ways of organizing your children’s list.

Attendance Entry

The attendance entry is fast and easy. The children in the selected program or bus are shown in a scrolling list sorted in alphabetical order. You can enter the IN or OUT time several ways

• Tap checkbox to enter the current clock time
• Open numeric keypad and tap numbers to enter time
• Write numbers to enter time
  

Children’s Pictures and Personal Data

Tap on a child’s name, and a screen will open with the following information about the child:

• Picture
• Personal data – height and weight
• Allergies
• Main contact name and phone number
• Doctor’s name and phone number
  

Signatures

After entering the attendance you can tap on a button that will open a signature capture screen. This would be useful where a state subsidy may be asking you for signature authentications. The signatures have the following features:

• New signature for each IN and OUT
• Date and time stamp embedded on the signature eliminating the possibility of signature forgery
